Why do people keep drowning in Australia?

Victoria's Squeaky Beach has been the site of multiple drownings and was named the number one beach in the country by Tourism Australia earlier this year.

Despite record funding for local surf lifesaving clubs and beach safety education, drowning numbers in Australia are not going down. I spoke with beach safety expert Rob 'Dr Rip' Brander AM, Tourism Australia's official Beach Ambassador Brad Farmer AM, and others to try and find out why.
